SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 21 (6:00 AM/7:00 AM/8:00 AM) – SANTA BARBARA RED ROCK ENDURANCE RUNS:
Located in the beautiful Santa Barbara backcountry, the Santa Barbara Red Rock Trail Run is advanced and intended for expert trail runners only. It is a low key, 50 Mile Trail Endurance Run, Trail Marathon, Trail Half Marathon, and 5K Trail Run. The 50 Mile will start at 6:00 AM, the 21K & the 42K will start at 7:00 A.M and the 5K Trail will start at 8:00 AM at the Sage Hill Campground, 177 Paradise Road, Santa Barbara, CA 93105. The out and back course offers dramatic views of the Santa Barbara backcountry. THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 26 (8:30 – 11:30 A.M.) – SLO FOOD BANK VIRTUAL TURKEY TROT:
Join the SLO Food Bank on Thanksgiving morning for their annual Turkey Trot, which this year is going virtual. In recent years, the Food Bank has hosted walks and runs in Avila Beach and Pismo Beach to raise money for meals for those who are not as fortunate. All proceeds raised from today’s event will provide meals to families in need. Participants can register and complete the walk or run on their own, with family, and/or with friends at a location of their choice. SUNDAY, JANUARY 3/SUNDAY, JANUARY 31 – BRITTNI AND BRYNN VIRTUAL 5K/10K FLOWER RUN:
Usually held at Santa Margarita Lake, the Brittni and Brynn Flower Run is going virtual this year. Run anywhere and anytime during January and track your progress online. SATURDAY, JANUARY 9, 2021 (7:00 AM/8:00 AM/9:00 AM) – LA CUESTA RANCH TRAIL RUNS (50K, 25K, 10K):
Directed by Luis Escobar and presented by Running Warehouse, these runs will take place at the La Cuesta Ranch near Cuesta park and just outside of San Luis Obispo at 2400 Loomis Road. The ranch backs up to Poly Canyon and the West Cuesta Ridge. This is a working ranch and the start/finish area will be at the ranch barn. This event features 100% dirt trails and ranch roads with fantastic views of the West Cuesta Ridge. This non-virtual trail running experience will feature three separate event distances and is designed to be sensitive to the hazards of Covid-19 so each event distance will be limited to 20 participants. The course will be a combination of rugged single track trail and ranch roads with rolling hills and plenty of elevation gain and loss. SATURDAY, JANUARY 16-30, 2021 (8:00 A.M.) – CASTLE TO COAST VIRTUAL 8.2 MILE RUN:
This year, Castle to Coast is going to be a virtual run. Sign up to help raise funds for the Cuesta College Track & Field program. Choose any 8.2 mile course (the official Castle to Coast distance) and run anytime between Saturday, January 16 and Saturday, January 30. After completing the run, report your time with your name on the Googledoc form posted at www.castletocoast.com. The Castle to Coast Virtual Fun Run 2021 is sponsored by Running Warehouse and FLUID. SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 13 (7:00 AM/8:00 AM/8:30 AM) – BUZZ MARATHON, HALF MARATHON, 10K, 5K, & YOUTH MILE:
The 21st annual Buzz Marathon will be happening at Camp Roberts just north of San Miguel on a course that goes through the hills of the Camp Roberts National Guard Reservation. This year there will be both on-site and virtual options. Packet pickup on Friday & Saturday will be in front of the Victory Theater. Masks, hand sanitizer, and social distancing will be required and monitored. Walkers & slower runners will start at 6:30 AM, then the marathon and half start will begin at 7:00 in small groups every ten minutes. The 10K will go off at 8:30, the 5K at 8:45, and then kids mile at 9 AM. Those races may have staggered starts as well depending on the number of entries. SATURDAY/SUNDAY, MAY 29/30 (6:00 P.M.) – THE SILVER MOON RACE
The Silver Moon Race at CASS Winery in Paso Robles is a new event that will be held on the weekend of May 29-30 with distances of 10K, Six Hours, Twelve Hours, 24 Hours, and 100 Miles. It is on a 2-mile lap route on farm roads around the vineyard. The course is designed to strengthen your endurance while being able to stop, rest, and refuel throughout the laps. Start at sunset and run through the night under the full moon and stars until sunrise the next day. Race perks include a medal, a buckle for the 100 Mile finishers, a finisher’s certificate, race photos, a race towel, and award for the top finishers. TUESDAY, JULY 6 (5:30 P.M) – ARROYO GRANDE ALL COMERS TRACK MEET #3:
This is the third and final meet in the series at Arroyo Grande High School’s new track facility. Registration starts at 5:00 PM and the first race, a two mile, will begin at 5:30. Other events are a 4 x 100 relay, 100 hurdles, 800, 100, 400, mile, football 40, 300 hurdles, & 200 in that order plus field events of long jump, shot put, high jump, and turbo javelin. This series of meets at Atascadero High School is open to all ages and abilities.
