SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 24 (9:30 A.M.) – LOS ALAMOS OLD DAYS 5K STAMPEDE:
This race is part of the Old Days Celebration and the start, finish, and registration (starting at 8:00 AM) will be at Ferrini Park on Bell Street. The race will be over a scenic loop course through town and Los Alamos Park, finishing prior to the start of the parade and there will be entertainment available for the whole family. The race entry fee is $25 which includes a race t-shirt while supplies last. Donations are also encouraged. There will be awards to the top three in seven age divisions and a trophy to the first male and female finishers. This is a fundraiser for Cal Swoosh, a nonprofit which helps underprivileged youth play club basketball. You can pre-register at olddats5K.com. TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 26 (6:00 P.M.) – RUNNING WAREHOUSE PUB RUN:
Join Running Warehouse and New Balance for a run or walk SLO Brew/The Rock in San Luis Obispo. The event opens at 5:00 PM and the run leaves at 6:00 PM. Please allow time to park and sign the waiver. There will be a 2 mile walk and 4 mile fun run with a demonstration of the latest New Balance footwear. There is no registration or cost.
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 7 (7:00 AM/8:00 AM/9:00 AM/10:00 AM) – BACK ON THE RANCH 3, 6, 12, & 24 HOUR RUNS:
Presented by All We Do Is Run, these trail races will take place at Sand Creek Ranch in Los Olivos. The object is to complete as many laps as possible within the allotted time periods. The surface is on a hard packed dirt road, going clockwise in single direction that will not alternate. Starting times are 7:00am for the 24 hour run, 8:00am for the 12 hour, 9:00am for the 6 hour, and 10:00am for the 3 hour. Awards will be presented to the top male and female in each division. SUNDAY, OCTOBER 8 – SPOONER’S COVE TRAIL RUNS (8K, 13K, 25K, 37K, 50K):
This is part of the Coastal Trail Run series designed to provide quality trail running experiences. The check-in, start, and finish are at Spooner’s Cove in Montana de Oro State Park on Pecho Valley Road in Los Osos. All courses are hilly ones on trails through the park. SUNDAY, OCTOBER 29 (7:30 A.M/8:00 AM) – WINE COUNTRY HALF MARATHON & 10K:
The race will start and finish at the CaliPaso Winery at 4230 Buena Vista Drive in Paso Robles. The course takes you over rolling hills, through picturesque vineyards, and along the Salinas River. After the race, enjoy breakfast, music, a raffle, and the awards ceremony. All runners receive a T-shirt and the male and female winners of the half marathon win their weight in wine. Medals and a wine glass to half marathon finishers and awards to the top three in 13 age groups in both races. The half marathon begins at 7:30 AM and the 10K at 8:00 AM. SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 12 (7:00 A.M) – CITY TO THE SEA HALF MARATHON & SEASIDE 5K:
The City to the Sea half marathon is a point-to-point race that starts in downtown San Luis Obispo. The course winds through the city, takes runners along scenic backroads and ends in Pismo Beach. The Seaside 5k course is out-and-back, beginning and ending at Dinosaur Caves Park and winding through the neighborhoods of Shell Beach. The top 100 half marathon finishers receive a City to the Sea mug and participants in each race will receive a finishers medal and event t-shirt. After the race, runners can listen to music, visit the expo booths, and have breakfast. Buses and shuttles will take runners back to San Luis Obispo or to Pismo Beach City Hall. The City to the Sea races, presented by Running Warehouse, are a central coast tradition and will celebrate 26 years running on November 12. The race web site is https://citytothesearun.com/.
SATURDAY/SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 17/18 – TIERRA REDONDA MOUNTAIN TRAIL RUNS:
The Tierra Redonda Mountain Trail Runs take place 30 minutes west of Paso Robles on the Smith Ranch at 8029 Lynch Canyon Road in Bradley. This event will feature 5K, 10K, 20K, 24 hour, and 48 hour runs on a 10K, 100% dirt, single track loop course. Big views, moderate climbs, mild temperatures, and free camping. Registration fees include a souvenir tee shirt, special awards for first overall male and female, awards for all finishers, Hammer Nutrition product at stocked aid stations, free onsite parking, and overnight camping. All events will start and finish at the Smith Ranch Cow Camp staging area.
