Thanks to those of you who have signed up for the 8th Annual Lighthouse 5K originally scheduled for May 30. It is with a heavy heart that we have decided to cancel this event due to the uncertainty of the coronavirus “shelter at home” order. Mark your calendars for next year on Saturday, June 5, 2020. This has been an important fundraiser and in 2019 we were able to raise over $26,000 at this event. If you have signed up for the run and would like to donate your registration fee, you do not need to do anything. If you would like to receive a refund, please email email@example.com and a refund will be forthcoming. This 5K run is to benefit The Lighthouse Foundation and it will take place at Fableist Wine Company (formerly known as Pomar Junction Vineyard & Winery). The course winds its way along a challenging course through the vineyards of the winery at 5036 South El Pomar Road in Templeton with a kid’s half mile following the finish of the 5K. Enjoy family activities with a bounce house, face painting, and crafts along with raffle prizes, a pancake breakfast, and music. The Lighthouse Foundation provides programs to help local youth overcome their drug and alcohol problems. SATURDAY, JUNE 27 (8:00 A.M.) – TEMPLETON 5K
The Templeton Recreation Department is hosting a 5K Beer Run at Barrel House Brewing Company, located at 3055 Limestone Way in Paso Robles. The 5K loop course is a timed event and a fundraiser for the Templeton Recreation Department. Walkers, joggers, and strollers are welcome but are asked to line-up at the back to allow the competitive runners clearance. Registration opens at 7:30 AM. and the run starts at 8:00 AM. Participants will enjoy live entertainment at the Barrel House Amphitheater and food will be available for purchase. Entrants should be 21+ and bring an ID. PISMO BEACH STRIDE WITH THE TIDE 5K
SATURDAY, JULY 11 (8:30 A.M.) – PISMO BEACH STRIDE WITH THE TIDE 5K:
This course is out and back on the hard-packed sand. Registration will be taken on race morning from 7:15-8:15 AM at the Pismo Beach pier at the end of Pomeroy Avenue and no pre-entry is needed before that. Entry fees are $15 without a race shirt or cap and $25 with one. Shirts and caps will be available to the first 150 entries and size requests will be filled in the order of entry. Awards will be given to the top three men and women ages 12 & under, 13-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, & 80+. SATURDAY, JULY 25 (8:00 A.M.) – BRIAN WATERBURY ROCK TO PIER RUN & ROCK’N AROUND THE PIER HALF MARATHON: Named in memory of Brian Waterbury who originated the race in 1970, this 6 mile goes along the beach from the start at the rock in Morro Bay to the finish at the pier in Cayucos. Awards will be given to the top three finishers in 15 age divisions from 10 & under to 80 & over. The Rock’n Around the Pier Half Marathon will be held primarily on the hard-packed sand with a one mile loop through a local park. Registration for both races includes a race t-shirt and breakfast. SUNDAY, JULY 26 (all day) – SAN LUIS OBISPO TRIATHLON (Swim = 1/2M, Bike = 15M, Run = 3.1M): CANCELLED!
After careful consideration regarding the health and safety of the participants, staff, and spectators, the City of San Luis Obispo has made the difficult decision to cancel the 41st Annual San Luis Obispo Triathlon scheduled for Sunday, July 26, 2020. The City of San Luis Obispo is very disappointed that we are unable to hold the SLO TRI for our community and participants. However, we are certain that it is the right decision based on the information we have today. Please stay safe and stay tuned for more information about the SLO TRI in 2021.
This event starts with the first 40 entrants hitting the pool at 7:00 AM and continues through the day at Sinsheimer Park. Each finisher receives a medal, T-shirt, results, and is eligible for the raffle drawing. Registration will be available on-line only. The event is conducted by the S.L.O. SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 13 (7:00 A.M) – CITY TO THE SEA HALF MARATHON & SEASIDE 5K

The half marathon starts at 7:00 AM in downtown San Luis Obispo and goes along frontage roads to Dinosaur Caves Park in Pismo Beach. The 5K takes place on an out-and-back course at Dinosaur Caves Park. Proceeds from both races go to the Cuesta College cross country and track programs. Born to Run is a weekend of trail running, music, camping, and much more. The Born to Run Extravaganza will feature Four Day, 100 mile, 60 mile, 30 mile, and 10 mile trails runs with rolling hills, wildflowers, red-tailed hawks, and blue skies for an ideal running environment. The event will start and finish on the private East Creek Ranch at 4155 Figueroa Mountain Road in Los Olivos. Everyone who enters the ranch property must be registered in an event. This includes friends, family, crew, pacers, and children. If you are a non-runner, you must be registered in the 0.0 km for people who want to experience the Born to Run but don’t want to run. SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 15 (8:00/8:15/9:15 A.M.) – WINE COUNTRY HALF MARATHON, 5K, & KID’S GRAPE STOMP:
The race will start and finish at the CaliPaso Winery at 4230 Buena Vista Drive in Paso Robles. The course takes you over rolling hills, through the vineyards, and along the Salinas River. After the race, enjoy breakfast, music, a raffle, and the awards ceremony. All runners receive a tech T-shirt and the male and female winners of the half marathon win their weight in wine. Medals and a wine glass to all half marathon finishers and awards to the top three in 13 age groups in both races. The half marathon begins at 8:00 (walkers at 7:15), the 5K at 8:15, and the Grape Stomp half mile for ages 10 & under at 9:15 AM. SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 21 (6:00 AM/7:00 AM/8:00 AM) – SANTA BARBARA RED ROCK ENDURANCE RUNS:
Located in the beautiful Santa Barbara backcountry, the Santa Barbara Red Rock Trail Run is advanced and intended for expert trail runners only. It is a low key, 50 Mile Trail Endurance Run, Trail Marathon, Trail Half Marathon, and 5K Trail Run. The 50 Mile will start at 6:00 AM, the 21K & the 42K will start at 7:00 A.M and the 5K Trail will start at 8:00 AM at the Sage Hill Campground, 177 Paradise Road, Santa Barbara, CA 93105. The out and back course offers dramatic views of the Santa Barbara backcountry.
