SPOONER’S COVE, MONTANA DE ORO @ Spooner's Cove

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 9 (8:00 A.M.) – SPOONER’S COVE MONTANA DE ORO TRAIL RUNS (5M/8M/25K/37K/50K)

This is part of the Coastal Trail Run series designed to provide quality trail running experiences. Check-in, start, and finish at Spooner’s Cove in Montana de Oro State Park, 2828 Pecho Valley Road (Los Osos).

Enjoy views of rugged cliffs, sandy beaches, and the ocean at the “Mountain of Gold”. The 5 mile course has minimal climbing and runs along the bluffs. For impressive views of the ocean and inland mountains, the 8 mile course will bring you up the 1,347-foot Valencia Peak. The 25 km course consists of two loops, the 8 mi route and then the grassy summit of Hazard Peak or complete the 25K twice for a 50K day. There are T-shirts to all entrants, refreshments, medals to the first male and female overall, and to the top three in each age group. Check the web site at www.coastaltrailruns.com to register.

This is part of the Pacific Coast Trail Run series designed to provide quality trail running experiences. The check-in, start, and finish are at Spooner’s Cove in Montana de Oro State Park, 2826 Pecho Valley Road (Los Osos). All courses are hilly ones on trails through the park and offer a mix of rugged, rocky cliffs, coastal plains, sandy beaches, and streams. LOS ALAMOS OLD DAYS 5K STAMPEDE @ Los Alamos Park

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 29 (9:30 A.M.) – 9TH LOS ALAMOS OLD DAYS 5K STAMPEDE: 

This race is part of the Old Days Celebration and the start, finish, and registration (from 8:00-9:15 AM) will be on Bell Street at Ferrini Park. The race will be over a scenic loop course through town and Los Alamos Park, finishing prior to the start of the parade. The race entry fee is $25 which includes a race t-shirt while supplies last. There will be awards to the top three in seven age divisions and a trophy to the first overall male and female finishers. BAYWOOD PARK OKTOBERFEST FOUR MILE RUN @ boat dock

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 27 (9:00 A.M.) – BAYWOOD PARK OKTOBERFEST FOUR MILE RUN:

Start by the boat dock at 1391 – Second Street in downtown Baywood Park and run an out and back 4 mile course on roads adjacent to the bay. Day of registration is $20 for the race and the first 150 signups get a pint glass and drink ticket for beer, coffee, or hot chocolate with their registration. Registration starts at 7:30 AM and ends at 8:45 AM with a 9:00 race start. Plenty of divisions from 8 & Under to 70 & over with prizes for each age and gender. Cash awards for breaking male or female overall course records, which are 18:31 and 21:33 respectively). All proceeds support Central Coast cross country programs.

ARROYO GRANDE YOUTH TURKEY TROTS @ Arroyo Grande High School

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 17 (2:00 P.M.) – ARROYO GRANDE YOUTH TURKEY TROTS:

A series of races by grade level for boys and girls, starting with 1/8 mile for kindergarten and below up through a mile for 7th & 8th grades. The races will be held at Arroyo Grande High School, 495 Valley Road at the track. Boys and girls run separately with a turkey to the winner, a chicken to the runner-up, and a game hen for third in each race. Sign-up at the AGHS track prior to the races. AVILA BEACH TURKEY TROT @ Avila Beach, California - The Promenade

This event will have a 5 mile run and 2 mile walk. Check-in is at The Promenade on Front Street and the courses will go out-and-back along the Bob Jones bike trail. A donation of $20 is suggested and the money will go to the Food Bank Coalition. PISMO BEACH TURKEY TROT @ Pismo Beach Pier

E.C.H.O. NORTH COUNTY TURKEY TROT @ Atascadero Lake Pavilion

All ages and abilities are welcome at this new event, to be held at the Atascadero Lake Pavilion. The suggested donation of $20 will help support the El Camino Homeless Organization’s mission to aid the underprivileged in the north county where they host a 50 bed transitional shelter. Los Alamos Trail Run

This event will take place on a private ranch at 2401 Drum Canyon Road in Lompoc, located in beautiful Drum Canyon outside Los Alamos. Presented by Luis Escobar, the event will be held in conjunction with the Los Alamos Business Association along with Drum Canyon Ranch owner Sam Howland. The event will feature a 5K & 10K trail run with overnight camping on the ranch, a guest speaker, wine tasting, and live music. Registration includes: race entry, a well-marked loop course, camping on the ranch, an awards ceremony with awards for the top finishers, a raffle, and a shirt.
