PISMO BEACH TURKEY TROT @ Pismo Beach Pier

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 28 (8:30 A.M.) – PISMO BEACH TURKEY TROT:

Start and finish on the sand on the south side of the Pismo Beach pier and choose from distances of one mile, 5K, & 10K. There is no entry fee but donations are welcome and the money goes to the Food Bank Coalition. More information is available on the web site at www.southcountyturkeytrot.com.

All ages and abilities are welcome at this new event, to be held at the Atascadero Lake Pavilion. The suggested donation of $20 will help support the El Camino Homeless Organization’s mission to aid the underprivileged in the north county where they host a 50 bed transitional shelter. The Jingle All the Way is a 5K with a 1-mile run for kids (starting at 9:00 AM) with a race t-shirt that was designed by a Templeton student. The 5K course is closer to 5.4K and winds through the residential streets of Templeton. Start and finish at the Templeton Fire Station at 206 – 5th Street. People can register online through www.active.com.  Directed by Melissa Johnson, mjohnson@templetoncsd.org. (Please do not park your vehicles adjacent to the park. There is a Farmer’s Market and parking spaces are reserved for vendors. There is parking along Crocker Street or 5th Street.)

Directed by Luis Escobar, these runs will take place at the La Cuesta Ranch just outside of San Luis Obispo at 2400 Loomis Road. The ranch backs up to Poly Canyon and the West Cuesta Ridge. This is a working ranch and the start/finish area will be at the ranch barn. This event features 100% dirt trails and ranch roads with fantastic views of the West Cuesta Ridge. SAN LUIS OBISPO HEALTH & FITNESS EXPO 5K @ Madonna Inn Expo Center

The SLO Health and Fitness Expo Superhero 5K starts and finishes at the Alex Madonna Expo Center at 100 Madonna Road. It offers beautiful views of San Luis Obispo along the SLO bike path up a mountain trail and back to the Expo Center. Runners and walkers of all abilities are encouraged to come enjoy the healthy lifestyle of the central coast.

Proceeds benefit Project Teen Health, a childhood obesity prevention program operated by the Community Action Partnership. CANCELLED Lighthouse Foundation 5K @ Fableist Wine Company

SATURDAY, MAY 30 (8:00 A.M.) – LIGHTHOUSE FOUNDATION 5K CANCELLED!   

Thanks to those of you who have signed up for the 8th Annual Lighthouse 5K originally scheduled for May 30. It is with a heavy heart that we have decided to cancel this event due to the uncertainty of the coronavirus “shelter at home” order. Mark your calendars for next year on Saturday, June 5, 2020. This has been an important fundraiser and in 2019 we were able to raise over $26,000 at this event. If you have signed up for the run and would like to donate your registration fee, you do not need to do anything. If you would like to receive a refund, please email lighthousefunrun@gmail.com and a refund will be forthcoming. If you would like to make a donation, please go to lighthouseatascadero.org and click on the donation tab. This 5K run is to benefit The Lighthouse Foundation and it will take place at Fableist Wine Company (formerly known as Pomar Junction Vineyard & Winery). The course winds its way along a challenging course through the vineyards of the winery at 5036 South El Pomar Road in Templeton with a kid’s half mile following the finish of the 5K. Enjoy family activities with a bounce house, face painting, and crafts along with raffle prizes, a pancake breakfast, and music. The Lighthouse Foundation provides programs to help local youth overcome their drug and alcohol problems. SUNDAY, JULY 26 (all day) – SAN LUIS OBISPO TRIATHLON (Swim = 1/2M, Bike = 15M, Run = 3.1M): CANCELLED!

After careful consideration regarding the health and safety of the participants, staff, and spectators, the City of San Luis Obispo has made the difficult decision to cancel the 41st Annual San Luis Obispo Triathlon scheduled for Sunday, July 26, 2020. The City of San Luis Obispo is very disappointed that we are unable to hold the SLO TRI for our community and participants. However, we are certain that it is the right decision based on the information we have today. Please stay safe and stay tuned for more information about the SLO TRI in 2021.

This event starts with the first 40 entrants hitting the pool at 7:00 AM and continues through the day at Sinsheimer Park. Each finisher receives a medal, T-shirt, results, and is eligible for the raffle drawing. Registration will be available on-line only. The event is conducted by the S.L.O. 2020 City to the Sea Is Canceled Due to Coronavirus-Related Health and Safety Concerns

“We are sad to announce that the 2020 City to the Sea Half Marathon & 5K set to take place on September 13th has been canceled. We have made the decision due to health and safety concerns for runners, spectators, volunteers, staff, and the many partners that support the event. We look forward to hosting the 25th running of the event in 2021.”
