DUNE RUN 5K RUN, 5K WALK, & 10K RUN

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 19 (8:00 A.M.) – DUNE RUN 5K RUN, 5K WALK, & 10K RUN: 

Registration will be at the Beach Plaza at 25 Grand Avenue in the area adjacent to Fin’s Seafood Restaurant and the courses will be on the beach. 10TH LOS ALAMOS OLD DAYS STAMPEDE 5K

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 26 (8:30 A.M.) – 10TH LOS ALAMOS OLD DAYS STAMPEDE 5K:
The Los Alamos Stampede 5K run & walk is back and will be held at 8:30 A.M. on Sunday September 26th at Arthur Ferini Park, 267 Bell Street in Los Alamos. Come join us to run or walk through the scenic town of Los Alamos and also enjoy the Old Days celebration with entertainment for the whole family. The run will finish just prior to the Old Days Parade and cover part of the same route. The run/walk is a fund raiser for the nonprofit sports club Cal Swoosh which uses the proceeds for underprivileged kids to play sports. The cost is $25 and includes a T-Shirt while supplies last. Donations are also welcome.   Pre-registration information is at olddays5k.com. Race day registration will be held from 7:00am-8:15 AM prior to the race at Arthur Ferini Park. BACK ON THE RANCH TRAIL RUNS

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 2 (7:00AM – 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM) – BACK ON THE RANCH TRAIL RUNS:

This event takes place at the private Sand Creek Ranch in Los Olivos and will consists of 3 hour (10 AM start), 6 hour (AM), 12 hour (8 AM), & 24 hour (7 AM). The event is designed to be sensitive to the hazards of Covid-19 and will include Covid-19 mitigation guidelines set by the Race Directors Alliance. The goal is to complete as many two mile laps as possible within the allotted time periods. Twelve-hour runners may opt for a daytime or night time segment (8:00 am to 8:00pm on Saturday or 8:00 pm Saturday to 8:00 am Sunday). The course is a 2 mile loop with 302’ of vertical gain. The surface is on a hard-packed dirt road, running clockwise in a single direction that will not alternate. Aid Station support is available every two miles and all participants will receive a custom souvenir t-shirt, bandana, and a cap. Awards will be presented to the top male and female in each division. SPOONER’S COVE MONTANA DE ORO TRAIL RUNS

SATURDAY/SUNDAY, OCTOBER 16 & 17 (8:00 A.M.) – SPOONER’S COVE MONTANA DE ORO TRAIL RUNS:

This is part of the Coastal Trail Run series designed to provide quality trail running experiences. Check-in, start, and finish at Spooner’s Cove in Montana de Oro State Park. Enjoy views of rugged cliffs, sandy beaches, and the ocean at the “Mountain of Gold”. The 8K course has minimal climbing and runs along the bluff. For sweeping views of the ocean and inland mountains, the 13K course that brings you up the 1,347-foot Valencia Peak. The 25K course consists of two loops, the 13K route and then to the 1,076-foot summit of Hazard Peak or you can complete the 25K route twice for a 50K day. There are plentiful aid stations, bring your own water container. The 25K & 50K will be held on Saturday only. There are T-shirts to all pre-entrants, refreshments, medals to the first male and female overall, and the top three in each age group. The web site is www.coastaltrailruns.com to register.

The Orcutt Trails running event returns for 2021 at Los Flores Ranch Park, 6245 Dominion Road in Santa Maria with 5K, 10K, and 21K (half-marathon) options. All distances highlight the trails at Los Flores Ranch park in the Santa Maria Valley. The property lies eight miles south of Santa Maria in the Solomon Hills and offers a mix of environmental education, land preservation, and recreation. Participants will enjoy well maintained single and double track trails with picturesque views. Proceeds from the event support the Santa Maria Valley Open Space trails advocacy group. MORRO BAY TRIATHLON

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 14 (7:45 A.M.) – MORRO BAY TRIATHLON (varied wave starting times):

This triathlon will have Sprint and Olympic events with waves starting at 8:00 am in five minute intervals: Olympic male, Olympic female, and relays, Olympic Kayak, Sprint Kayak, Sprint Male, Sprint Female and Relays. Swim (or paddle) in Morro Bay Harbor, bike along Highway 1, and run on the beach and boardwalk to the finish at Morro Rock. Registration closes on October 27. Packet pick up is on Saturday from 3-6 pm at Coleman Park, Morro Bay with a pre-race briefing from 4:00-5:00 PM. The City of Santa Maria invites you to get in shape by participating in the 24th Annual Turkey Trot. Start your run at Jim May Park, continue through the adjacent neighborhood, and then follow the multi-purpose trail along the Santa Maria River levy. Runners in the 5K will make a u-turn at the Santa Maria River and follow the route back to Jim May Park. Event check-in starts at 8:00 AM, the 5K begins at 9:00, and kids one mile begins at 9:45. Jim May Park is located at 809 Stanford Drive in Santa Maria and registration is through www.active.com.

CITY TO THE SEA HALF MARATHON & SEASIDE 5K

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 21 (7:00 A.M) – CITY TO THE SEA HALF MARATHON & SEASIDE 5K:

The half marathon starts at 7:00 AM in downtown San Luis Obispo and goes along frontage roads to Dinosaur Caves Park in Pismo Beach. The 5K takes place on an out-and-back course at Dinosaur Caves Park. Proceeds from both races go to the Cuesta College cross country and track programs. AVILA BEACH TURKEY TROT

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 25 (8:30 A.M.) – AVILA BEACH TURKEY TROT:

This year’s Turkey Trot will combine the traditional gathering in Avila Beach with the virtual elements from 2020. The in-person trot is a 2-mile walk that begins at the Avila Beach Promenade on Front Street and goes along the Bob Jones Trail. The virtual version can be a walk or run on your own or with family and friends at a location of your choice.
