BAYWOOD PARK OKTOBERFEST FOUR MILE RUN @ boat dock

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 27 (9:00 A.M.) – BAYWOOD PARK OKTOBERFEST FOUR MILE RUN:

Start by the boat dock at 1391 – Second Street in downtown Baywood Park and run an out and back 4 mile course on roads adjacent to the bay. Day of registration is $20 for the race and the first 150 signups get a pint glass and drink ticket for beer, coffee, or hot chocolate with their registration. Registration starts at 7:30 AM and ends at 8:45 AM with a 9:00 race start. Plenty of divisions from 8 & Under to 70 & over with prizes for each age and gender. Cash awards for breaking male or female overall course records, which are 18:31 and 21:33 respectively). All proceeds support Central Coast cross country programs.

WINE COUNTRY HALF MARATHON, 5K, & KID’S GRAPE STOMP @ CaliPaso Winery

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 17 (8:00/8:15/9:15 A.M.) – WINE COUNTRY HALF MARATHON, 5K, & KID’S GRAPE STOMP:

The race will start and finish at the CaliPaso Winery at 4230 Buena Vista Drive in Paso Robles. The course takes you over rolling hills, through picturesque vineyards, and along the Salinas River. After the race, enjoy breakfast, music, a raffle, and the awards ceremony. All runners receive a tech T-shirt and the male and female winners of the half marathon win their weight in wine. Medals and a wine glass to all half marathon finishers and awards to the top three in 13 age groups in both races. The half marathon begins at 8:00 (walkers at 7:15), the 5K at 8:15, and the Grape Stomp half mile for ages 10 & under at 9:15 AM. ARROYO GRANDE YOUTH TURKEY TROTS @ Arroyo Grande High School

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 17 (2:00 P.M.) – ARROYO GRANDE YOUTH TURKEY TROTS:

A series of races by grade level for boys and girls, starting with 1/8 mile for kindergarten and below up through a mile for 7th & 8th grades. The races will be held at Arroyo Grande High School, 495 Valley Road at the track. Boys and girls run separately with a turkey to the winner, a chicken to the runner-up, and a game hen for third in each race. Sign-up at the AGHS track prior to the races. Sponsored by the Lions Club and the Arroyo Grande Parks & Recreation Dept., 473-5474.

This event will have a 5 mile run and 2 mile walk. Check-in is at The Promenade on Front Street and the courses will go out-and-back along the Bob Jones bike trail. A donation of $20 is suggested and the money will go to the Food Bank Coalition. E.C.H.O. NORTH COUNTY TURKEY TROT @ Atascadero Lake Pavilion

All ages and abilities are welcome at this new event, to be held at the Atascadero Lake Pavilion. The suggested donation of $20 will help support the El Camino Homeless Organization’s mission to aid the underprivileged in the north county where they host a 50 bed transitional shelter. The Jingle All the Way is a 5K with a 1-mile run for kids (starting at 9:00 AM) with a race t-shirt that was designed by a Templeton student. The 5K course is closer to 5.4K and winds through the residential streets of Templeton. Start and finish at the Templeton Fire Station at 206 – 5th Street. People can register online through www.active.com.  Directed by Melissa Johnson, mjohnson@templetoncsd.org. (Please do not park your vehicles adjacent to the park. There is a Farmer’s Market and parking spaces are reserved for vendors. There is parking along Crocker Street or 5th Street.)

FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE REINDEER 5K RUN @ Mitchell Park

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 7 (9:00 A.M.) – FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE REINDEER 5K RUN:

The annual Reindeer Run will take place at Mitchell Park, located at 1400 Osos Street in San Luis Obispo. The course will take runners along the railroad trail to Orcutt Road and return to Mitchell Park via Broad and Santa Barbara Streets. Proceeds benefit the Friday Night Live youth programs. Enjoy pancakes at the Senior Center following the run. Race registration is through www.active.com. There is no event parking at Mitchell Park so participants are encouraged to use the Marsh Street parking structure.; dogs are not permitted on the 5k route. The event schedule is 8:00 AM – Runner check-in; 8:30 AM – Welcome; 9:00 AM – Race Starts; 9:15 AM – Pancake breakfast begins.
