SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 15 (8:30 A.M.) – ANTHONY’S “SEEING IS BELIEVING” 5K:
This race will take place on the sand in Pismo Beach with registration at the Addie Street parking lot south of the pier. It is a fundraiser for the eye disease LCA and is named in honor of Anthony, a student who suffers from this disease which causes blindness. SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 30 (9:30 A.M.) – LOS ALAMOS OLD DAYS 5K STAMPEDE:
This race is part of the Old Days Celebration and is sponsored by Cal Swoosh Sports and the Los Alamos Men’s Club. The start, finish, and registration (from 8:00-9:15 AM) will be on Bell Street at Ferrini Park and the race will be run over a scenic loop course in town and through Los Alamos Park, finishing prior to the start of the parade. The race entry fee is $25 which includes a race t-shirt while supplies last. There will be awards to the top three in seven age divisions and a trophy to the first overall male and female finishers. SATURDAY, OCTOBER 13 (8:45 A.M.) – PATCH ME IF YOU CAN 5K:
This event will take place at The Patch, a new pumpkin patch located at 6271 Dominion Road in Santa Maria. This race is organized by high school students and proceeds from this race will contribute to youth scholarships. The Patch is located at Los Flores Ranch Park with 1,700 acres of unique trails and views. Two 5K’s in one with separate starts – an advanced run along with a beginners/intermediate walk/run. Check-in starts at 7:30, the advanced run begins at 8:50, and the beginner/intermediate section starts at 9:00. Course information is available at thepatchsantamaria.com. It is the responsibility of participants to record their race time as your time will not be recorded by staff. Bring a water bottle as this race is a bottle-free race. SATURDAY, OCTOBER 13 (9:00 A.M.) – NIPOMO OCTOBER FESTIVAL FOUR MILE RUN & TWO MILE WALK
This run will be held at Nipomo Regional Park, 555 Pomeroy Street in Nipomo (at Tefft & Pomeroy). The four mile course is out and back and there is a two mile walk over the same route with an earlier turnaround. There will be no awards at this non-competitive run but there will be raffle prizes with the drawing at 8:30 AM prior to the race (winners must be present) and post-race refreshments. Proceeds benefit youth programs in Nipomo. There will be plenty of activities, including music, food, and craft booths in the park after the race as part of the October Festival The run is being organized by the Nipomo Recreation Department, 239 West Tefft Street (Post Office Box 346), Nipomo, 93444, 929-5437, www.nipomorecreation.org. Funds raised from this event go to benefit local youth recreation and sports programs in the Five Cities.
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 14 (7:00/7:30 A.M.) – CITY TO THE SEA HALF MARATHON (13.1 miles) & SEASIDE 5K (3.1 miles)
The half marathon starts at 7:00 AM in downtown San Luis Obispo at Higuera & Court Streets and follows country roads to Dinosaur Caves Park in Pismo Beach. The entry fee includes an event T-shirt, breakfast buffet, entertainment, and post-race shuttle service. The 5K starts at 7:30 AM and takes place at Dinosaur Caves Park and has all of the above benefits including breakfast. Proceeds go to the Cuesta College cross country and track programs. SUNDAY, OCTOBER 21 (8:30 A.M.) – SCARECROW FESTIVAL 5K:
This family event is a fundraiser scheduled to coincide with Cambria’s Scarecrow Festival. It will start at Shamel Park, 5455 Windsor Boulevard in Cambria (located off Highway 1 at the north end of Cambria) and then head south toward Fiscalini Ranch. The entire course is next to Cambria’s pristine coastline along the trails of the Fiscalini Ranch. The run is a fundraiser for the Cambria Youth Athletic Association.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 28 (9:00 A.M.) – BAYWOOD PARK OKTOBERFEST FOUR MILE RUN:
Start by the boat dock at 1391 Second Street in downtown Baywood Park and run an out and back course on roads adjacent to the bay. Registration starts at 7:30 AM and ends at 8:45 AM with a 9:00 start.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 28 (9:00 A.M.) – RUN FOR THE HILLS 5K:
This new 5K takes place at the Saunders Vineyard at 7310 North River Road in Paso Robles, presented by the Hearst Ranch Winery with proceeds to benefit Georgia Brown Elementary School. The race starts at Hearst Ranch Winery’s newest tasting room in Paso Robles, winds up the hills through Saunders Vineyard and into the hills dotted with oak trees at the back of the property. The course then loops back down to finish at the tasting room. The event also includes a post-race festival with food and wine will be available for purchase. Participants will need to bring their ID or a parent/legal guardian if they are under the age of 18. Late registration begins at 8:00 AM and the race starts at 9:00 AM. Parking will be located on site. Participants should dress appropriately for the weather and be advised that the course is on a dirt trail. SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 11 (7:00 AM/8:30 AM/9:30 AM) – PACIFIC PREMIER PASO ROBLES HALF MARATHON & 5K
These races start and finish in the Downtown City Park on Spring Street in Paso Robles. Runners in the half marathon enjoy a tour of the city center before heading out towards the hills of wine country. The entry fee includes a short-sleeve tech unisex shirt, bib timing, awards, aid stations, and a well-marked course. The 5K is two paved loops through downtown Paso Robles while the Family Mile and SLO County Elementary School Championship race are a paved loop around City Park for young runners, and families who want to race. Parking is free but limited so please carpool.
The pending schedule: 6:00 AM – Packet pick-up begins; 7:00 AM – Half Marathon start; 8:30 AM – 5K start; 9:30 AM – Family Mile/County Championship Mile; 10:00 AM – Kids’ Dash; 10:30 AM – Awards.
SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 18 – FRIENDS OF LOPEZ LAKE TURKEY TROT
These runs will take place at Lopez Lake with an official address of 6800 Lopez Lake Drive, Arroyo Grande. There will be a mile for youth, a 5K, and a 10K, all on trails. It is conducted by the Friends of Lopez Lake, a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and protection of Lopez Lake and which promotes and supports recreational, environmental, and educational activities. Park entrance is not included with event fee and there is a charge of $10.00 per vehicle and $3.00 per pet payable at the park entrance. The runs will be held rain or shine and there is plenty of parking so come spend the day at Lopez Lake. Registration is through www.active.com.
