RUNNING WAREHOUSE PUB RUN #5 @ Mr. Rick's

TUESDAY, AUGUST 8 (6:15 P.M.) – RUNNING WAREHOUSE PUB RUN #5: 

This is the fifth in the Running Warehouse series of pub runs. There is no registration fee and the runs will be 3-4 miles (untimed). Each run will have a shoe sponsor offering the opportunity to test out their latest footwear and the run will be followed by a raffle and refreshments. ORCUTT TRAILS 5K & 10K @ Orcutt Community Park

SATURDAY, AUGUST 12 – ORCUTT TRAILS 5K & 10K:

These runs will take place at Orcutt Community Park, located at 5800 South Bradley Road in Orcutt. The courses will start from Orcutt Community Park and loop around the Orcutt Trails system. The moderate elevation changes on non-technical dirt trails make the course challenging but not difficult, along with beautiful views across the Santa Maria Valley and out to the ocean. Proceeds from this event support the Santa Maria Valley Open Space trail advocacy group in their efforts to expand, develop, and maintain trails and open space for the Santa Maria Valley. 29TH DUNE RUN 5K RUN, 5K WALK, & 10K RUN @ Ramona Gardens Park

SATURDAY, AUGUST 26 (8:00 A.M.) – 29TH DUNE RUN 5K RUN, 5K WALK, & 10K RUN:

Runners and walkers of all ages will enjoy this diverse course along city streets, the beach boardwalk, hard packed sand, and soft sand dunes. T-shirts will go to the first 100 to register and awards to the top two finishers in many age categories in both races. Start and finish at Ramona Gardens Park at 993 Ramona Avenue in Grover Beach. The race is part of the city’s Stone Soup Festival featuring food, vendors, and live music. KAYLA PEACH MEMORIAL FOUNDATION YOUTH MILE, 5K, & 10K COLOR FUN RUNS @ Paso Robles Sports Club

SATURDAY, AUGUST 26 – KAYLA PEACH MEMORIAL FOUNDATION YOUTH MILE, 5K, & 10K COLOR FUN RUNS:

These runs will start and finish at the Paso Robles Sports Club, 2975 Union Road in Paso Robles and go through the Vina Robles Vineyards. Activities include a health fair with music, food and drinks, informational booths, a silent auction, and a raffle. DIONYSUS DASH 5K @ Vina Robles Winery

SUNDAY, AUGUST 27 (8:15 AM) – DIONYSUS DASH 5K:

This run takes place at the Vina Robles Winery at 3700 Mill Road in Paso Robles. The course goes through the vineyards and is for novice and avid runners as well as wine tasters and walkers. Be prepared for a trail run through dirt, rocks, and grass. Those under 21 can run but are not eligible for the wine tasting or awards.

The morning schedule is as follows: 6:30 AM – Winery gates open; 6:30-7:30 AM – Race packet pickup; 7:30-8:00 AM – Music, vendors, warmup; 8:15 AM – Race time with wine tasting to follow.

A.F.S. PINEDORADO DAYS 5K @ Coast Union High School

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 2 (7:45 A.M.) –   26TH ANNUAL A.F.S. PINEDORADO DAYS 5K:

This race is part of Cambria’s Pinedorado Days celebration and runs along a course that follows the Pinedorado parade route. The race, which takes place just before the parade, starts and finishes at Coast Union High School, 2950 Santa Rosa Creek Road in Cambria. The entry fee is $15 without a shirt, $20 with one, and medals will be awarded in ten year age groups based on participation. It is a fundraiser for Coast Union’s American Field Service program and is directed by Sharon Bisso (995-1432) and Marcia Hilger (927-4965).

SLO ULTRA AT WILD CHERRY CANYON

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 9 (6:00 AM/7:30 AM/8:30 AM/9:30 AM) – SLO ULTRAS AT WILD CHERRY CANYON:

This event will consist of trail runs at four different distances – a 50 mile (6:00 AM start), a 26.2 mile trail marathon (7:30 AM start), a 13.1 mile half marathon (8:30 AM start), and a 5 mile cross country course (9:30 AM start). All four distances are made up of pristine coastal rolling hills over fire roads with some single track connectors. They include various loops that have both canyons and epic view climbs. Wildlife is plentiful and you will be sharing the course with cattle and horses. There will be a finish line festival from Noon-5:00 PM with local musicians, free to the public and all race participants. 41ST VALLEY OF THE FLOWERS 5K & HALF MARATHON @ La Purisima Mission State Park

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 16 (8:00 A.M.) – 41ST VALLEY OF THE FLOWERS 5K & HALF MARATHON

These races take place at the La Purisima Mission State Park, 2295 Purisima Road in Lompoc. Both courses are off road and hilly with some sand on the parts that go through the Mission area. The entry fee includes refreshments, entry to the park, finishers medals, awards three deep in each division, and jerseys for the half marathon participants. The entry deadline to be sure of getting the shirt is August 10. Register via www.active.com or get an entry form at members.impulse.net/~lvdc. ANTHONY’S “SEEING IS BELIEVING” 5K @ on the sand just north of the pier in Pismo Beach

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 16 (8:30 A.M.) – ANTHONY’S “SEEING IS BELIEVING” 5K:

This race will take place on the sand just north of the pier in Pismo Beach and is a fundraiser for the eye disease LCA. It is named in honor of Anthony, a 6th grade student at Grover Heights Elementary who suffers from this disease which causes blindness. Awards are three deep in ten-year age categories and finisher’s medala for the first 150. Entry fees are $20 by September 8, $25 after that, $15 for students ages 13-18, and $10 for kids 12 & under (includes a T-shirt while supplies last).
